I have 4 screen shots that has to do with The Brothers Karamazov from the chapter 2 found in hidden balloon picture. Not sure if this info is any good but worth a look
This novel is key to one of the main themes of Lost. Dostoevsky uses two of the brothers to carry on his own inner struggle with the existence vs the non-existence of God. This comes up all the time on the show along with people's guilt around their various harmful deeds and the Others' list of 'good ones' – people supposedly worth saving. I think the Others have a messed-up idea of ethics and spirituality – sort of dharma mixed with Christianity and some kind of cult worship of Jacob. The brainwashing room is an example of an initially spiritual plan gone very wrong.
Jrcaporal, nothing is useless just because it was in a past season. It's all one mystery – all these tidbits accumulate to finally show us what it all means. Why are these people who have so many past connections to each other and so much guilt gathered in this mysteriously powerful place?
I didn't find this as a clue for season 2... now I don't even remember what I found... but this doesn't mean anything I think. John gave Ben the brothers Karamazov to read and Ben drew the map on this page... it's just that, nothing else, I think.
Actually, Lock gave this book to "Henry" when he was in the "The Swan" station as a prisoner, in "Maternity Leave", then Ana Lucia ask Henry to write her a map of the ballon, so he used the first page of the book.
regarding the strange projections on sam's desk and in the bedroom..I tried to make some adjustements with Photoshop to spotlight these hidden layers..hope they can be somehow useful

yup and another main theme in the novel (frickin GREAT book, btw, anyone have extra time on their hands should give this one a go) is the idea of 'sins of the father' and patricide - yeah, just a few connections to Lost ;)
