The clue game must give out different questions, because my answers had to do with Magnus Hanso, Africa, and the name of the company that Magnus worked under.
I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but my "progress" changes on chapter one from day to day. I've completed every step, and usually they're all green, but the last couple times I logged in, the "clue hunt" sector went either all red or partially red.
sorry, meant to add, if you're not sure, both our mapping sites, www.multimap.com and www.streetmap.co.uk will NOT find one, neither will www.192.com nor www.thepostoffice.co.uk who list ALL uk post codes too.
lenny, just sharing what someone over at the 'Lage found with google.
And whoever asked if you can use either clue password, not sure, but you could with the Chapter 1 game, so assume you could here in Chapter two. Aussie and American passwords worked in Chapter 1.
hearing of the oz password made my hackles rise... FARADAY as in Michael Farday ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Faraday ), anyone? First we have maxwell (group and picture on Sam's 'browser') and now a Faraday reference...
Dont bother wasting money to ring the number, it's a UK equivalent of 555, read http://www.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/ioi/numbers/num_drama?a=87101 especially the London row.
KeepingAway, whoa. I never played the 1st arg, so i'm a little murky about the whole hanso - mittelwerk - paik connections, but it does seem this is where they are leading us... and yes Orsted, Maxwell, and Faraday are all very connected with E/M (electro-magnetic) theory and discovery.
And btw, Faraday is important because Darlton have said that we, the fandom, only have ONE of the new character names right. So I guess it is him.
-----
At the time they said that, we only knew of three new character names: "Charlotte," "Russell," and "Arthur Stevens." The one literally correct name is one of those.
Daniel Faraday's name was leaked in a later filming spoiler and has not to my knowledge been commented upon publicly by any of the show staff.
elpaw, can you help me with the number - or anyone that can help - because from the site you provided, it looks to me that Penny's number falls between the two... How is it the same as the American 555. Sorry I'm finding this quite confusing as the phone number scheme seems very different in England than it is in North America. Did anyone have troubles calling the number from the first clue? I live in Canada and was getting someone in my hometown...should I have added a 1 to the start of the number? Thanks
to dial from North American you would have to add 01144 in front of the number.
The 022 7 number is essentially an area code for London. But I'm assuming he's saying that the rest of the number is akin to 555 in the US, which is used for films as fake numbers.
The original number was an Australian number was it? Jeeez, how would I know to add 01144 in front of it!? :P On the site elpaw sent, it seemed to me that the number should work, but I must have read it wrong. Thanks for the help!
Thomasriekki - that page says that in the UK all numbers xxx x946 0yyy are not real numbers, just numbers that are used for TV/film purposes. Kind of like the american xxx 555 yyyy. So whoever rings that number (in the UK) or +44 20 7946 0893 (from abroad) won't get through to anything. It is not a real number.
Thanks elpaw. I didn't read the top of the page, lol shame on me. I assumed they were the real ones. 1000 numbers definitely isn't enough for London though! Can anyone help me out with the number from chapter 1? I was told I should have added 01144 in front because I live In Canada. Is this because the number is Australian?
Lauren, That's what happened to me with the chapter 1 number. I looked in my local phone book and 888-5480 is a local number where I live. My phone started to dial it seemed once the first seven numbers were entered. I'm assuming the number - 888 548 0034 - was American or Australian so therefore I needed a country code that I was missing.
The producers have also said that Christmas will be celebrated this season on the island. Michael Faraday in 1825 incorporated the Christmas Lectures at the Royal Institution in London.
Maybe this is a small tongue in cheek way of introducing Faraday to the island...in some explosive, electro-magnetic, Christmas Lecture nod way.
the # does work here in the states (i live in New York)- its a hotline for Oceanic Airlines.... its pretty cool. and sounds like in the future it may be more interactive...
strange thing though, "423 Cheyne Walk" isnt working for me when i put it in. i wonder if the site is down right now...
oh, one more thing about the #... in the states you dial it as 1-888-548-0034
its a toll free call, so maybe it doesn't work for callers "outside" of the calling zone... I know when i am in london, i can not dial toll-free american #s (anythingthat starts with an 800, 888, 866, 877, etc)...
i just played the clue hunt game and got "423 Cheyne Walk" but that didn't work so i typed "423 Chyenne Walk" which i found here and that worked(!) what's up with them suddenly giving a wrong password??!
Just noticed somebody wrote 020 is the Australia country code. Well, I'm Australian and that number is bogus, our country code is 61. 020 is the number for london

But there are different questions for each one that enter to that page, it changes.
The clue game must give out different questions, because my answers had to do with Magnus Hanso, Africa, and the name of the company that Magnus worked under.
Other answers are:
Indian Ocean
18 to 27
New Worlds...
Magnus Hanso
that's all I can remember
I think so too. Those weren't my answers. I haven't had any success hunting down 423 Cheyenne Walk as an address.
If you play the game on the Aussie Yahoo site, your answer is Daniel Faraday
easy game compared to the previous one.
my questions were different also....
daniel farady is a new character in season 4...played by jeremy davies...
That's easy but a spoiler for some. What's the 423 address refer too? I'm coming up with nothing really.
This book must be the ARDIL 22 book that contains the Desmond and Penny picture, maybe the parachute gal take it

And btw, Faraday is important because Darlton have said that we, the fandom, only have ONE of the new character names right. So I guess it is him.

there is no 'cheyenne walk' in the whole of england. there's plenty of cheyne walk's tho.

its a UK telephone number but it's not connecting at the moment
sorry...didn't meant to sound snappy, just frustrated that i exhausted all the UK based sites i could to no avail *lol*
anyway, good luck you guys. i'm off to bed!
hearing of the oz password made my hackles rise... FARADAY as in Michael Farday ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Faraday ), anyone? First we have maxwell (group and picture on Sam's 'browser') and now a Faraday reference...
think maybe they're telling us something ;)
hey twinkle if daniel faraday is a spoiler why put him in the game?
monk, and you can also link farady to
Hans Christian Orsted, who has been proposed as the reference for HANSO.

Why is Penny's Notebook in Sam's Cabin?
Is it Penny's boat?!!!
where did they say we only know one of the names of the new characters?
KeepingAway, whoa. I never played the 1st arg, so i'm a little murky about the whole hanso - mittelwerk - paik connections, but it does seem this is where they are leading us... and yes Orsted, Maxwell, and Faraday are all very connected with E/M (electro-magnetic) theory and discovery.
and the plot (continues) to thicken...

I'm from Texas and I dialed it exactly and heard AT&T and then a girl answering it. I didn't say anything. She said "Can I help you?" then hung up.
anyone else call this number?
The Big thick brown book looks like it says One Hundred Great ___

Greetings from Brazil!
FYI: I've tried to reach the number using the International Area Code for Australia (61) but I also couldn't make it.

The clue word has been changed.
Now it is "423 Cheyne Walk" which is a real location in London.
"Cheyenne probably was a typo.
hey guys!

Yeah, it gave me "Cheyene Walk" too, but I had to type in "Cheyenne" to get it to work.
There is a town called Cheyenne in Wyoming USA
