The ship does look relatively similar, perhaps something of note.
Also, something of interest is that the Maxwell Group compass on the main page matches exactly the compass in the Chapter 3 Clue Hunt to the far right of the computer.
I just rewatched the video before Talbot's Cabin Activity. In the first 20 seconds when it's focused on the ship you can seen numbers on the ship in the middle of the screen. (Sorry I don't really know what part of the ship it's called) Does anyone else see them and can you make them out?
yeah, krisch, I noticed that too.. there's also a part of the "watermark" that is like a tunnel, like a way out from something, maybe from the island. anyway.. do you think that the maxwell group username and password are related to the game or we'll know them watching the show? In my opinion (and I hope it will be this way) is the last part of the game, the one that will give us the golden pass, a "price" for the first who will find username and password.. [yeah, I'm just a kid waiting for Xmas..]
This is from Flashes Before Your Eyes from Season 3 when Desmond is being interviewed by Charles Widmore. I don't think it looks like the one from the Maxwell site, but take a look at it.
The boat is very similar to ancient Egyptian solar boat models that were left in dead pharaohs tombs. If you look at the cloth that is over the "cabin" (the back of the boat, far left on the picture) it has the egyptian symbolism for water on it. (the wavy lines). I might be completely off base. But it was worth mentioning.
305 is the compass bearing that Locke, Kate, and Sayid follow to reach The Flame (from the scripture "Lift up your eyes and look north John 3:05"). These two occurrences seem almost too distant to be more than coincidence, but who knows...
i am VERY sorry again, but on the ch.3 clue hunt on the very left, right by the stop watch, is what looks to be a clock, but it isnt, its the compass thing from the find815 loading screens and the tmg logo, which is pointing in the exact same direction.
i don't know why, but The-Maxwell-Group.com has never updated on my work computer. it never had the talbot interview link, and now doesn't have the new logo. anyone know what the problem might be?
That's interesting, Aeolyn. Speaking of the clothed-covered "cabin"...I wondered about the area underneath. There's an roped area in the shape of an octagon. Can't imagine the purpose of it. Anyone else have any ideas?
HawaiianActor....you need to clean-out your temporary files. I had the same problem and this worked for me.
i make the heading on the larger compass to be 302 or 303 degrees not adjusting for true north. (using the needle on the smaller compass to define north)
Also, the fact that West is on the opposite side doesnt nessecarily mean that the compass has been "flipped", it's a legitimate way to make a compass.
With this sort of compass, you rotate the compass so that the needle is on top of the heading you want (in this case 302 or 303 degrees NW) and the North point of the compass will then be pointing at that heading (rather than the more common method, where you would in this case orientate the needle with north on the compass, then find the 303 degree point on the compass dial and head in that direction)
But yeah, the fact they said the black rock headed west instead of east, and the fact they even chose to use a less-common reversed compass suggests there's more to this.
I think we need a little help from Our Mutual Friend, I can't see how we possibly open the Maxwell Group site on our own... No more ideas... HEEEELPPPP !!!! :o)
is the compass pointing at the bearin Michael was told to follow - 325? looking at a picture it looks the same but reflected, and iv heard pepz say the compass isnt quite right.

The new compass is switched to face the opposite way again, like the previous one.
And tilted...
I've tried inverting the image and had a search around but there's nothing there.. at least i don't think there is
looks like they're gearing up for something though!
That ship in the background looks familiar. Have we seen it before?
I got it! In the Chapter 3 Clue Hunt, to the left of the computer, there's a ship. It doesn't look exact, but pretty similar.

it its giving hints towards chapter three then we might as well go back and look through it to find hidden messages
Good idea Danny!

The new compass its pointing to degree 305. I first thought this could be the direction Michael and Walt left, but that's 325 degrees.

Could this be the model ship that was in Widmore's office? THe one that Desmond commented on? Can anyone find a shot of that ship?

Is this what you were talking about Rachel?
yes it was, but i guess it is not it. that would have been cool though! THanks for the image!
Your welcome. I really think it's the same ship from the Chapter 3 Activity, but I can't find a screencap.
how come my maxwell group site hasnt changed from the original white compass look? and i havnet gotten the audio clip on the site yet either...

It is the exact ship on the Chapter 3 clue hunt, but there doesn't seem to be anything on it when you zoom in.

I think you guys may be on to something with them wanting us to go back to Chapter three.
Perhaps A Mullins is the username?
I just noticed that the compass in the middle of the maxwell group website logo is the exact same one from the find815 loading pages.
sorry for the double post, but why is the tmg logo a gif file?

oh, btw (im very sorry again) heres a pic (if it works) of what i was talking about (the 3 compass things).

what was the 5th thing released during chapter 3? that might be where we need to look.
By my reading the compass bearing is 293?
W is 270, plus 23 (sic!) degrees (WNW)

The Maxwell group has two addresses. You're probably using http://www.the-maxwell-group.com/. Use http://www.find815.com/TMG/ and see if that helps.

Hawaiianactor
Open the page and then hit Ctrl+F5 key. That will refresh the page without using temporary internet cache.
thanks guys, i got to work!

to get the site refreshed, add slashes th the url before TMG
www.find815.com/TMG
www.find815.com//TMG
www.find815.com///TMG
www.find815.com////////TMG
etc
each time u add slash it is like the first time you open the site..
