I don't remember Berlin being on the list of destinations...but the BB is 'near Portland'.
Definitely part of the game. That BB would mean nothing to ABC's non-hardcore Lost fans, and BB's cost $$$. Inclined to think it's either a legit clue or an 'in game' red herring.
Berlin is not on the list of Oceanic's destinations, nor is it the hometown of anyone we know about. Was this billboard found in Tustin, CA, by any chance?
This has either something to do with the flashback/flashforward in Germany (although, the flash will play in Bavaria, which is far south, and Berlin is Northeast...), or it's just photoshop crap... or it has something to do with the game...
can anyone tell what the small text at the bottom of the billboard, just to the left of the middle reads? its next to the horse sculptures leg, but i cant get a detailed enough zoom to read it...
wow i would have never ever seen that cal. it almost looks like its just part of the picture, but im pretty sure its text of some sort because even though i cant make out what it says, you can just tell by the shape and spacing of it that its letters and words.
I took this photo in Tustin, Ca last night. The typing in the lower left hand corner in my little tag and not part of the photo.
The statue in the foreground is entitled “Lotta contro il leone” (or “battle with the lion”) by Hubert Wulff. I couldn’t deduce any meaning from it.
The Cathedral in the background is the Berlin Cathedral. The image of the Cathedral and the statue does not seem to be manipulated. You can find similar angles online.
However, the modern looking building in the background is completely fake. It’s been photoshopped in. Other photos of the Cathedral reveal that there nothing but air next to the Cathedral.
In my opinion, that modern building takes away from the composition, so why would someone add it?
Going to try to take a photo of it in the light today.
It's on 17th right as you go over the 55 going west. It's difficult to see from almost every other angle.
I posted a day photo here: http://www.kev-mo.com/blog/?page_id=82
Not much more detail.
I think I was wrong; that other building is not photoshopped.
Although I think it's totally coincidental, if you look closely on the high res images into the arch entrance of the Cathedral, there is a pattern on the ceiling that looks a lot like a dharma symbol. That symbol is original to the building.

YO thats strange

Ththis entries title has (Portland, OR) in it. :D
I remember reading abt 1 in CA,last week I think...maybe this is the 2nd one in a series?
The 1st had a message in Korean, something about '6'.
Would cite sources but really don't remember, try google.
That's probably an actual billboard for the season of Lost.
that billboard isn't the Portland one, this is
http://www.flickr.com/photos/fat_hobo/2160174161/
It doesn't have Lost or abc or jan 31st anywhere on it that i can see. When have you seen a Lost advertisement w/o at least 1 half-naked character. :)
A casual watcher would not immediately recognize this as an abc promotion for ANY SHOW.
Why have a bb directed at only people who are already fans if it's not ITE/ARG2 related?
where is this one even from?

This is a real life billboard that someone snapped on their camera. There are a few of these in real cities.
They are 100% real.
I'm not sure if they will tie into the game or if they are just ways to market the game.

also the outer line of the oceanic logo isnt blue as it always is. just a useless observation. let me have my fun.
Could it be a four toed statue?
If they are putting theses up in major cities, i hope one goes up in London :D
