Update: 23:00 Thanks to elpaw for some clean up audio both forwards and backwards.
Thanks to Pumuckel for the following.
I don't knwo if somebody else has already done this but I played the sound from the second game on find815.com backwards. When you clicked on "Maxwell-group" in that eMail there was it and after some filters i got this:
I thinks he's saying something like "Your are into something...??? Stop..??". Maybe others have better ears.^^

I though I heard "you're in for something... sunda trench".
"You are into something...
Either
"With Sonya, Arncha (Aren't You?)"
Or
"with (the) Sunda Trench"
Not sure which
Okay, I'm sure it's
"You're into something in the Sunda Trench"
Although the elongated "enccchhh" at the end seems wierd
I can hear
"You're into something. Somthing's strange here"
I hear something like "you are interested in the Sundra Trench"
JLSK
I listened to it several times, and I am definitly hering "You're interested in the Sunda Trench."
I agree with "You're into something... the Sunda Trench."
i THINK i've heard:
"you are into something...... (sunda?) trench..."
the last word is "connection" I believe
or "... connects you" at the end.
I dunno, i dont like the whole play record backwards thing, especially not all over again, im sticking with what i believe i heard while playing it. I understood only one word: SURGERY!
First thing that came to my mind was the Connection to Jack and Ben of course and since the Introduction to the game actually said "Look AND Listen" i dont think theyd expect any Jimmy John Cracker to actually record the sound and play it backwards only to get another clue.
IMHO its more likely a Key Word we might be asked for later on in the game, just like MATTHEW.
Ive got a lot of respect for your effort but i believe the most simple solution is the right one most of the time.
"you're into something, sunda trench"
i can hear it very well
"i dont think theyd expect any Jimmy John Cracker to actually record the sound and play it backwards only to get another clue"
Actually, if you look at some of the efforts that went into some of the stuff by various folks regarding the lost experience that's exactly the kind of thing the makers of this game are probably expecting. Little inane clues that are seemingly easy may just lead the way to other various clues. While this clue seems to be fairly straightforward dont be shocked to find stuff setup to be played backwards or set up as an anagram or using hexadecimal counting etc.
got nobody an expensive audio tool to solve this mystery? :P
maybe this sound means nothing and the speaker only blabbles a few words which have something to do with the game.
Why I hear that, which makes sense, is "Your interest IS IN the Sunda Trench".
Ahh i love backwards audio, so spookily crazy
I hear
"Youre into something. Sunda Trench"
too.
It sounds like whats your interest in the sunda trench as well.
As I hear it, I'm pretty sure it's "So you're interested in the Sunda Trench."
yup..
you're into something.. sunda trench.
I'm hearing "you're on to something, aren't cha"
I'm hearing "You're interested in the Southern trench."
I'm positive it's "sunda trench" although i could be wrong, i'm 95% percent certain he says "your into something..."
im pretty sure he says "...something changed" in the reversed one!
i heard WE are in the sunda trenchh.. like maybe its a broadcast from the island somewhere.?? or maybe from the freighter??
In the video there is like a second more of whispers, it sound right after you cut this audio, sam talks and in the background you can hear like a second of another whisper..., or is just my idea? xD!
I hear "You're into something...sucks like Drive Shaft".
No, that's really what I heard!
It's definitely "what's your interest in the Sunda Trench?"
I heard something like "During the sixteen has something changed."
English is not my first language, but I am sure he didn't said Sunda trench. I also didn't hear word 'something'.
I read a suggestion by IAM on the 48 forums that I think sounds spot on.
"No such thing as Sunda Trench"
