Find 815 in Captain America

Thanks to Josh for finding the following.

Got a sneak peek at the new Captain America comic issue #34 the releases next week and in the background of one of the panels is a tv newscast that has a ticker that reads "Jack Shepard... the lost... found" and something about "find out more at find815.com". This is something that probably shouldn't be found until Wed. of next week and will tie in at that time I'd assume. Thought I'd share.

Weird. I doubt this is part of any viral campaign. More likely a friendly shout-out (like the mention of 815 on NBC's Chuck), seeing as there is ZERO corporate connection between ABC/Disney and Marvel Entertainment.

Check the Speaker's site (InsideTheExperience.com); there have been a lot of these Marvel comics tie-ins lately. I think the writers over there have a crush on LOST. They probably know how cross-promotion works with JJ, and are hoping to get Hurley to stop talking about Superman and the Flash, and start talking about Wolverine and the Hulk instead.

There's a writer connection. I can't remember who... I'm going to investigate right now.

Yeah I forgot about Brian K. Vaughan. He's written for Marvel.

Next week they will find the "wreckage". It says Jack Shepard specifically though. This can't be taking place when they are actually rescued because the wreckage that Naomi mentioned to Jack has yet to be found. Odd... Maybe the camera finds a body down there wearing the same clothes as Jack. I'm almost as excited for the finale of Find 815 as I am for the season premiere!

err.. mentioned to Hurley. Got "Lost" while writing that.

Javier Grillo-Marxuach is a former co-producer of Lost and a writer for Marvel.

Not the link I'm looking for, but I found it nonetheless.

Actually according to Rich Johnston: http://www.comicbookresources.com/columns/?column=13
(check the january 21st column if you arrive at this link late)

"ITEM! After Nike and the US Army, Marvel continue to arrange new product placements in their stories. Look for “Lost" billboards in both “Cable/Deadpool" and “Thunderbolts.""

so this is likely a result of a product placement deal with ABC.

The poster is of Kate. It says LOST on the bottom of it. I think it was in... Thunderbolts. Can't remember for sure - read too many damn comics. I do rememebr that it was on a bus stop shelter though.

And there are tons of comic-book references and connections in Lost, both in reality and in the Lost universe. I believe a good portion of the writters have partaken in comic book related stuff before.

Here's a link to the post Speaker made about the tie-ins.

Am I wrong or does the Captain America tie-in imply that Sam finds Jack and Kate and the others. I know the wreckage Naomi mentioned hasn't been found but maybe she was lying, or from an alternate universe as that seems a popular theory.
