Interesting email

Ive just noticed Sam has sent an email to Austral Air, applying for a possible job. The HQ of the company is based in Réunion - its an Island in the Indian Ocean...im sure this is significant, Wikipedia has the following info...

Any ideas?

I don't think so. Reunion is near Madagascar so a lot far from Australia, Jakarta, Fiji, etc. What's strange is that there's no departure in Australia so why Sam want to work for that company? Bangkok is the nearest airport from Jakarta that Austral Air deserves. I don't know what to think about it.

I don't think that this is included in the game ... it seems to be a real company. I was checking it out before and trying to enter Sam's reference # for his flights on it to no avail. But you never know ...

I just think it's a case of soemone not doing all the research. I think they wanted to have another fictional airline, but didn't bother to check if it existed already.

i really doubt that. The Lost producers arent that lazy/bad

they are not.. but there were comments about the OCEANIC AIRLINES.. it had been used in another 1996 movie, and the Lost producers also used it without knowing about it.. i think there is no connection between the real Austral Air and "our" Austral Air... but what do you know.. IT'S LOST...

The same infallible producers who have changed images, swf files and captions around so much already in this game?

I think it's just and added fact to make it more realistic, nothing more than that, otherwise we would have deemed it more important and 2 AM GMT last night...

but the IATA code HR, it isn't for AIR AUSTRAL but for another air company:

HR isn't an IATA code, it's human resources.

Yes I agree elpaw, the general quality of the game is fine but there are glitches too.

I think it's important to remember that the show creators are not the game creators, and may not have any input. It seems they were only marginally aware of the "diary" ABC had on its site for awhile.
