the man in the picture on the aurora site is Kristian Birkeland.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Birkeland-terrella.jpg

"Auroral electrons come from beams emitted by the sun. This was claimed around 1900 by Kristian Birkeland, whose experiments in a vacuum chamber with electron beams and magnetized spheres (miniature models of the earth or "terrellas") showed that such electrons would be guided towards the polar regions. Problems with this model included absence of aurora at the poles themselves, self-dispersal of such beams by their negative charge, and more recently, lack of any observational evidence in space."

also in the picture, they are performing a/the terrella experiment. the worlds first artificial aurora.

What bridge mishap is Tracey referring to in the e-mail?

Birkeland was born in Christiana (now Oslo) Norway

Anyone else notice the tip of the second planet at the very bottom of the Aurora Austalis page? Maybe an easter egg. Prolly not. Just struck me as unusual.

So the name of the alien planet in Tracy's email is "zubelleedubellee". Incredibly, thats an anagram for "lee dual bezel lube"...must be a clue...

Doesn't that swirl of green in the website picture look like the curling object hidden in the Maxwell group logo? Maybe there is an underlying message there.

kessler- She was referring to the incidents on the bridge of the ship that Sam mentioned....with all the instruments going crazy.

lol! thanks! I was wondering what happened on a bridge in australia in that time-frame. Guess I shouldn't read when I am on the phone with my mother!

this is somewhat unrelated but...
i was looking on sams desk for anymore hidden pictures and i was looking at the dossier. All the pictures are the same except for Sun's, which is a polaroid. on the Polaroid is a series of numbers. I think they are:
12531085060
It might be old news or nothing at all, but I'm looking for anything

justashepard said...

Jin's photo is also a polaroid but there are no numbers on it

what clues have shown up on the maxwell site? maybe we need to add them all up. figuratively of course.

@justashepard
Those numbers were noticed right when the game started but no one figured out what they're for yet.

@basshops--what do you mean different colored eyes? they all look fine to me.

zubelleedubellee = beelzebub??

modernman said...

the polaroid pics have been analyzed to death...so far nothing....i find it interesting tracy says the auroras usually happen over polar areas...

On the aurora webpage, the green swirl seems to actually be an arrow (look at the right end of it). Where is it pointing us to???

mert said...

There is a link to http://www.flyoceanicair.com near the word Aurora on Sam's browser..

NomadsHorizon said...

@mert

That's just a glitch in the way the webpage function works. The links on the left go into the web browser.

Interesting that the page mentions violet as an aurora colour. Could we have witnessed a man-made aurora Australis on the show when Desomnd turned the key?

@brandywesson: On the Maxwell Group page there seems to be a faint green swirl just beneath the compass/logo.( I can only see it if I look at my screen from an extreme angle) Looks very much like the aurora green swirl you pointed out.Hmm. clue to opening Maxwell in here?
