I have been search through all the sites that are at our disposal and these are some minor points that have not been noted but may come into play later down the time line.
1. On the flyoceanicair.com site in the source code "smash moat" is made as a comment. This has been done before on previous ARG games. Smash moat obviously has no meaning to us, so in my mind this is an anagram
2. On the-maxwell-group.com site, on the left hand side there is a full stop. Now again previous ARG games have used these to link to other sights, this may happen later on.
3. The picture that was briefly published on the Flickr site is of a bearded man. Now looking carefully at the picture it seems something is different in his left eye (right hand side of the picture) I cant make it out, and im useless on photoshop so that may be something to look at.
Thanks all

as said in other comments, "smash moat" is the anagram for Sam Thomas.
i only want to say that there are two different adresses for the maxwell group site.
the first is http://www.the-maxwell-group.com and the other is http://www.find815.com/TMG/.
the interessting fact is that the sourcecode is not the same!
the code for the second adress contain more informtaion.

This is a color-enhanced version of that picture we saw on Flickr. I reversed colors and adjusted to get a more real-like picture.

Any thoughts? Some people say this guy, might be our Sam but they have complete diferent eye colors.
http://www.find815.com/TMG/ is the original site (with the original source code); http://www.the-maxwell-group.com is just a reflection of that site..
@ steff
but the question is why ;)
btw., to darkufo and the other news writer:
what's about a news, where we can collect the various details of the game. i guess this would be very helpful for all player.
Hi Gater, What do you mean by collect the news?
everybody think that he/she found a new clue (like me), and this information get lost in the comments of another news, which have nothing to do with the "new" hint.
there could be a news (under your general news on the top) where everybody got the possibillity to tell the other players their findings.
other blog reader could follow this clues and the news writers got a place where they can find information for news.
i'm sorry for my english and i hope this is understandable ^^
could michael be on the freighter in Jakarta? Also in the email from Sam to David - Sam says - Can you help us at all? Not can you help me at all...
Could the unknown sender be Michael?
someone tryed to do something with the words "yuihost.extmail" that are written before "the-maxwell-group.com" in the incoming mail?
maybe if we put the "@" i the middle can be a mail adress (the @ its depicted in the compass of maxwell's logo)
"Smash Moat" could also be interpreted as "Atom Smash". 'Atom Smasher' is a common nick name for a particle accelerator. If you read about what this machine actually is, plus look at the blast door map, plus watching the orchid orientation film. I think you may find some interesting connections. Just a guess on my part but I have a strong feeling this may be the direction LOST is going. Any thoughts?
1miletogo - the 'us' may just refer to him. i know here in the UK people often use it colloquially to mean oneself, maybe its possible its used like that in Australia too?
How about the anagram Sham as Tom?
or could be "SAM AS THOM" (becouse the real name of Tom Killen its Thomas (you can see that in his page)
Another question is where did Sam get the photos in the manifest? They are the promo shots for season 4...
The only photo that is different is Kate, she is wearing something different than the promo shots, I don't know if that is relevant or anything.
The photos do seem to be aged, so that fits into the possibility that he has had the book for some time and the time frame is early 2006.
Regarding the anagram, I also saw the sham angle -- toms a sham
"smash moat" can be the anagram of Sam Thomas.
I didn't see any difference in the source of both sites, sorry. Are you using IE?
for the other hidden word "warn witness" or sth similar, I read somewehre else, it could be I "want answers".
