and also there is some text above the picture...and some other text on the far left of the room (near the desk) http://bp0.blogger.com/_HVloHM0J7sY/R4658nU6S2I/AAAAAAAAAOo/eHwxvO8gRtU/s1600-h/clue+hunt+3.jpg
i'm posting this here so we do not have to explain all the progress to the new chatters, and it seems that TPTB on this site won't post any of this. wednesday evening, somebody came into the chat on the site under the name 'OurMutualFriend42' and posted a link to a picture on flickr:http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2319/2184246397_bcb4a12b01_o.jpgthis has led us to a website that IS game related (it's actually just a picture of a website, probably will be used in-game)http://www.baliholidayfun.comby e-mailing the address on that site, email@example.com, you get a giant auto-reply with the subject "Amuses Mr. Ole" which we now believe is an anagram for "Samuel Morse" the inventor of morse code.the e-mail is garbled, maxwell-group style. if you search for ¿ in the e-mail, you will occasionally see it followed by bits of a web address, which we have now pieced together as "Http://www.find815.com/steg/stegosaurus.png" which leads to... a picture of a stegosaurus. wether this is a red herring, a stepping stone, or a waste of time, well, we're not sure yet. hopefully this will start getting tracked in the blog
If the guy above me is correct...wow!
Oh sorry for the double post, but I see the text that Steff mentioned. Someone good with computers help! :P
ryan,I don't know if this is set up, but I did it all and it works...the pic is on the find815 site right? This is really weird.I mean I didn't believe Zeke emailed people back because I never got one, but I did for this! How did you get to the Bali site from the flickr photo? And sorry for so many posts.
i personally have not done the switch, since i do not have the font. but there is apparantly a font called "symbols" or something like that. if you match up the symbols with that font, it spells out the website.
Ryan Thanks for the recap of events that have UnfoldedBtw: The steg pic is from WIkihttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stegosaurus
anybody else who is reading this right now, (2:17am EST) feel free to talk about it with us, and add your own thoughts, in the CHAT ROOM! (go to the main page, very top in the upper right corner and hit chat now!)
sorry! i posted incorreectly that OurMutualFriend42 was on wednesday night... it was actually Tuesday 1/15, Roughly somehwere around 10pm EST ( i forget the exact time)
This is the sitehttp://www.find815.com/bhf/index.html
Hey Ryan and everyone else who was working on this mysterious poster and the Baliholidayfun site...We are looking into this and will post more later.ThanksThe ODI :)
Hey, odi, check the last comments from "feddawg" in the "Introduction to Find 815" post too. He was with us during our findings, and was the first to post about them.
my last addition before i hit the hay is that we've comfirmed there is a user named OurMutualFriend42 on Lostpedia who was posting messages in the forums around the same time that he was in our chat room, but apparantly his messages were deleted as spam by the moderators, and only one of his 7 posts remain. we can't really glean any info from it.
I just want to repeat what ODI said and add.Great Work guys :)
enough with the overlay posts already. we all see them. very clever. oo look theres a negative image... have a bigger forum then people would mention these in passing which is about all they deserve. OoOo scary face in the door! look! ooo!OO! :)
oh yeah nice find on the bali thing by the way :P
Seeing the mention of the Stegasaurus picture, is it possible they're using steganography on any of these images?
Martin, I thought of this too. I once saw a pic where the height of some blades of grass were a morse code. Anyone analyzed the stegosaurus pic for clues like that?
About the pics, there are 2 of them. One in the 1st scene, below the computer. I guess it's Sam's Laptop image of the web pges area. Sonya's picture is the image of the full e-mail, since there's some text above her.
