The Maxwell Group website

It seems the Maxwell group site not only has a new link to an audio stream, but the server is now "updated and secured". If you type in any random username and password you'll get this window:

Now all we need is a username and a password. Ideas anyone?

well, last night we were discussing the possibility of the password being n the barcode on the golden pass. so we were looking for better close-ups.

also, someone mentioned an anagram from omf? anyone know anything about it?

My guess is that the password may be 411151057

As far as I know, the only thing that we've found out about that number so far is that it translates to "All is lost" which in and of itself doesn't mean much to the overall game.

Tried and Tried. i still think the barcode has something.

i've tried 411151057 with a number of usernames and haven't gotten anything. i've also been trying various combinations of the passwords given for the season four clues (eg: Frank Lapidus, 423 Cheyne Walk etc).

here's a thought.... remember the briefcase that Sam found the Maxwell Group documents in? The initials were, AMM (i think).... corresponded to a guys name in the phone, A. Mullins. Maybe his name is the username since is probable that Mullins worked for the Maxwell group??

i believe that naomi and the other people coming to the island off the freighter are part of the maxwell group. They want to find and do something with the island real bad. They don't want the world to know what their up to, and certainly can't have anyone snooping around looking for Oceanic 815. so, they plant an aircraft at the bottom of the ocean in an area thats unreachable for salvage or investigation (Talbot lays down this propaganda in the maxwell site audio clip), and they see Sam's endeavors to keep the search for the aircraft alive as an opportunity. They send him coded messages and manipulate him onto the christiane I to make the discovery of the planted aircraft. This angle makes the discovery that much more plausible to the rest of the world. Hence Naomi telling the survivors that the wreckage was found and that there were no survivors.

Now the Maxwell group can continue their search for the island without attention. we see them finally arrive in last night's episode. From the trailers for next week we hear the man who parachuted in tell jack that their rescue is not actually their first priority. An arrangement will be made over circumstances i won't speculate on to get the Oceanic 6 off the island, under the condition that they tell the world that there are no other survivors, when in fact , there are. This is the source of the guilt that Hurley shows in last nights episode, as well as the reason jack wants to go back to the island.

The scene from last night's episode in the basketball court between hurley and jack gives me this impression.

We will get more info and access to the maxwell group website as this progresses...

I tried "All is lost", "love you madly", Maxwell, Talbot as passwords/username.
Unsucessful.

I think it's safe to say that we at least know that Charles Widmore and Oscar Talbot work for The Maxwell Group. Therefore, they would probably both have a username. However, is it their name? Is it cwidmore? Widmorec? I dunno.

I totally agree with everything you said Hanuman. I think that's what is happening too.

Just to add my 2 cents. When you go to the island, your brain gets a little scrambled and you start seeing things, having hallucinations, due to the electromagnetic properties. It's good when you're on the island for whatever reason, and you can even have shared hallucinations. But if you leave the island, your brain doesn't change back and you start seeing things, just like Hurley. In fact, I don't think that Hurley really went on such a spectacular chase with the cops -- he imagined it... maybe it was made real through his imagination (the magic box ben speaks of). Hurley also kept scoring points in HORSE with Jack, and Jack didn't seem surprised. Also, everyone in the mental institution wearing robes? All of these are clues from the writers, who expect us to know they are much smarter than to write it like that. During that first scene, didn't you think it was going to be another episode of expose or something? Well, Hurley saw Charlie so that stuff happens once you leave the island.

Let's not forget that Claire observed in season 1 that no combs or brushes were in any of the luggage... which is an impossibly unlikely occurrence.

I tried going to the maxwell group site and it keeps giving me the "403 Forbidden" message. Is it still up and running?

k this prob sounds really stupid but maybe it is more obvious than we think, like the season 4 clue hunt passwords, but wat about the username? Maybe its Charles Widmore as the user....

If it really is gone for good, I'm going to be highly dissapointed. The site stopped working while I was on it, too. Hmph :(.

yeah, what the hell is going on with the maxwell site?

my take is go to www.oceanicairlines.com

the code translates to "changes will occur, a keen eye is needed"

I believe we'll have to play back through the find815 game to get back to the maxwell site plus the user name and password will be in there somewhere

"THE CHANGES HAVE OCCURED, A KEEN EYE IS NOW NEEDED!"

www.oceanicairlines.com is not in-game, the real ones are
http://www.oceanic-air.com/ [old] and

I just listen to the audio from Talbot's interview. It was quite clear to me that Sam was manipulated. He was sort of a scapegoat, an unwilling collaborator to Maxwell Group's goal: Close the 815 incident.

Sam was a vigorous opponent of stopping the 815 search, which as you may imagine, has been very costly. Maxwell group is losing money and has lost credibility while attempting to abort the search without closure. How can they re-establish travel routes without seem irresponsible?

They manipulated him to believe 815 was found. If Sam, the spearhead and public voice of the "Find 815" movement is convinced 815 was found, the movement is over.

Oceanic and the relatives has it's closure and everyone is OK to move on and embrace again Oceanic as a responsible company. I won't be surprised if in the future we learn that Maxwell is a major shareholder for Oceanic.

By Talbot telling Sam, these coordinates are not important, supported Sam's curiosity. He even told Sam "You don't know what you are into" been truthful to him, but at the same time misleading him.

It was never a "Black Rock expedition", but a "mock Find 815" expedition from the get go.
Very easy for Oceanic to replicate the 815 markers in another plane. They own dozens of similar planes. Choosing Sunda Trench, they cleverly choose a feasible crash site, with the added bonus of a depth that negates access inside the plane. What you see is what you get. Impossible for further exploration and verification.

In other words: Talbot and The Maxwell group pulled a "Ben Linus" on Sam. They used the classic "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" approach, making thier enemy (Sam) revindicate them.

I've always thought there was more to the Maxwell Group e-mail that Sam received. (Sender: Auto Reply, Subject: Fatal error no such recipient). Has anyone tried to further decode that message? Right before it reads "the-maxwell-group.com" the message reads "host-extmail."--is there any way to find info about the e-mail acct of the sender(and thereby, possibly a Maxwell Group username&pswrd) from this e-mail???

Well found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8d6iOgACnk

Don't know if it's real, the shots of the confidential Maxwell report are not from Sams vid clip. Led me to:

16, 23, Find815, Snake, 4, Find815, Mailbox, Find815, 8

The mailbox bit took me back to mail.the-maxwell-group.com from the email, which turns out to be an active mail server (all be it a redirect.)

A bit of fishing led me to:

What do you guys think?

Has anyone tried to use that OpenStego program on the diver/ROV JPEG on the UCLA Radio site? I'm on a Mac and I can't get the OpenStego program to work... Seems like there's precedent for hiding stuff in images...

In reply to "THE CHANGES HAVE OCCURED, A KEEN EYE IS NOW NEEDED!" above, there are many comments in other forums to say that the password for one of the tasks 'cheyenne walk' changed part way through the game to be 'cheyne walk'. I was wondering if throughout the game there are small changes like this one and that if we were to discover all the changes there may be outstanding letters which lead to a password? Any more thoughts?

I personally think that the user and password will be revelaed in one of the episodes, over someones shoulder, so to speak. This is the only explanation for the password appearing in cleartype (when you type in the box) I can think of.
