it appears that it doesn't matter if you succeed or not in the game. as long as you click on continue story... the game moves on.

The Success video doesn't work...

sorry for the last video.. i "fixed it" now =)

that game was too easy, too bad its over and Oscar Talbot haha

dragossh said...

Talbot definately knew something. And Tom just realized that :D

The way Sam looked at the end makes me think a bit of this game will actually go on. It just made me think it was unfinished.

shit is about to get WILD

lol

I'm so excited for tonight... you don't even know

dragossh said...

We still don't have the username and password to Maxwell Group's website.

And don't forget the Golden Pass Oceanic announcement from Eli Stone.

I knew it :)
Poor sam

Dom Cruise said...

is that it?!? 5 weeks of stayin up till 2am every other day for THAT?!?

Anonymous said...

That was so good! I gotta admit I didn't see that coming with the plane underwater, although I should've. I think Talbot knows something. He's so creepy. Well, much thanks to DarkUFO and everyone who helped with the game.

Christy G said...

something tells me this game isn't over. maybe just this part of the game is. maybe we will see talbot on the freighter tonight!!

Same way that Ben got Locke to "blow up the sub", Talbot got Sam to "find Oceanic 815": make the mark think it was his idea all along. If you want my theory, Talbot either works for Oceanic or some concern like Mittelos, who has a vested interest in keeping the REAL 815, and the island on which it rests, hidden.

Maqrkk said...

I think Maxwell Group has ties to 'the others' on the island. I always thought the others covered up, and have them make a fake ship somewhere.

taiphun said...

I mailed a pretty EASY solution to chapter 5, last activity. Also, I mailed the success video. Still not up yet.

Unknown said...

don't think this game is over, not yet, not according to some of the spoilers i read ><

Bolivar Baez said...

My guess, we get the Maxwell group password somehow and inside we find documents leading to the conclusion that Talbot knew that we would find the wreckage of the flight and not the black rock as first thought.

Unknown said...

Yeah, how did the person who supplied the screenshot of the successful map have time to make all those crossovers?? I ran straight lines that barely intersected, and I hit the final waypoint JUST before the battery died.

Also, Talbot does not work for Maxwell. I'm sure of it.

Mr_Eko said...

I think that Talbot is one of the others. Remember what happened when juliet said the only way she could come was if her husband was hit by a bus, and another thing stopping her from coming was her sister. Magicly the day later both of those problems dissapeared, she came along. I'm thinking maybe they did this the same way they had juliets husband ran over, or cured Rachels cancer so that Sam would'nt find the island.

I also like the theory that Talbot works for Oceanic. Both work well IMO.

jimstem said...

who posted the map and how do I see it?

Christy G said...

ahh! the plot thickens. i love it!!!

@Kyle aka TheBookPolice

I guess because of the high traffic there was some kind of bug in the game and I had unlimited time ;) i've just tried it again - and again the same=)

This begs the question of how Oceanic Airlines is going to address the survivors of the crash when they already ran a story about Sam locating the crash at the bottom of the Sunda Trench. What are they going to say, that it was just another plane they lost that had crashed and no one knew about it. Or is it just another plane that someone else painted an Oceanic logo on and then sank to the bottom of the ocean. As you noticed, no bodies were shown in the plane. My guess is that Mittelos sank the plane in hopes that no one would ever go looking for the survivors and find the island. But, if that is the case, I still wonder how Oceanic will address the locating of the survivors if their plane was at the bottom of the ocean.

v30 said...

Is anyone else hearing whispers in this game?

JossNL said...

mnbigredfan: There are theories that a copy of everything that comes on the island (not via sub) lands in the sunda trench. Those theories are based on the Philedelphia experiment and all that we have come to know about magnet powers and the island.

I have a feeling that that's the actual tail section that sunk into the water.

I think Oceanic set this up and talbot is working for them. The TMG website has never had a correct input for username and password as i said here: http://find815.blogspot.com/2008/01/i-took-screen-shot-of-authorization.html

I also think that Ben is the owner of Oceanic Airlines ...

Well we all knew what the end was going to be, but it was a nice distraction over the weeks leading up to the show and nicve to see the other side of what we were hearing on the show.

It was nicely executed, it would be nice if the videos for this ended up on the Season 4 DVD because it deserves to be there.

well done to all the players.

oh how heartbreaking. I've been following the game, trying to play the different activities, and showing the videos to my nana, she's 91. She really enjoys Sam's story. I just showed her the success video here, and she started to cry at the same time as Sam. :(

The we called my mom in and she watched the video too, and she started cussing and fussing about. I'd never heard my mom say those particular words before. Now my mom is mad at me for showing the videos to my nana.

oh man, why can't I watch us-television.I have no chance seeing the new episode. Just don't know how :(

Can't wait to see it, I think, that will be in Summer 2010 in Germany ;)

Lucky you!

Xaren,

You should be able to download the Lost episodes the day after they come out, either from a torrent sharinf site like isohunt.com or from abc.com directly. You shouldn't have to wait until 2010, that's ridiculous.

Steff said...

you can download it only by torrents, the non-US IPs are not accepted by abc.com for downloading the episodes

Anonymous said...

At first i thought this would end with the discovery of the fake 815 wreckage, now i'm wondering if both planes are real, maybe the island is a gateway to other dimensions, parallel universes and in ours they died!

gunshyne said...

I was hoping to see more of the plane, not bodies or anything. Just more.

I hope it does go on cause I think everyone pretty much figured they were going to find the plane. Not much suspense there. I guess the big question will be why did oceanic plant the dummy plane at the bottom of the sea.

LostFan_4815162342 said...

I'm in the UK, lost doesn't air over here untill Sunday. Usualy that wouldn't be a problem - but the owners of the channel that it airs on over here have had a fall out with the owners of Virgin Media which I have. So as I do with Heroes and Prison Break, I download. Usualy off thepiratebay.org the episodes will usualy be uploaded anywhere between 15 - 40 mins after the episode has aired (3-5 am in the UK). If you were to begin the download at around 9am it would be complete by 4pm for sure, depending on how many people actualy decide to let you upload from them.

HannaK said...

It just can't end here!!! I wanna know what happens next! AARH Why do I not live in America, now I have to wait until someone uploads it to the internet, and I wanna know what is going to happen!

travis said...

Called it!! :) I guess this did happen around the end of 2004!

BTW, what better way to throw someone off the track (ie., what happened to the plane) than to help them find another phony track (or plane)! Brilliant move by "Maxwell" -- and you can read it in Talbot's face! He was definitely pleased! The way they manipulated Sam makes me think the plane they found was a plant, not a clone or whatever of the original.

Maxwell planted that dummy plane, and then set about to manipulate the one guy determined to get answers into finding the fake.

A couple of things;
I enjoyed the game overall.
In regards to the "continue with story" option on today's challenge(instead of finishing the task, you can just skip to the final ending) someone hypothesized on the chat that those who completed all the missions et al would receive an email from find815 containing the password for TMG. I thought it was worthy of mention.
If that isn't it, then maybe we have everything we need in regards to TMG website, and we're just waiting for it to be back up....

Anonymous said...

Ok, I feel really stupid, but I cannot seem to beat Find the Black Rock. I've tried at least a dozen times, using various different patters to get to the points, and I always run out of battery right after I get to point 8. Does anyone have any suggestions or screencaps of how they beat it? Thanks!

Steff said...

@harpbrat: Try going in "reversed-S" direction

Anonymous said...

The login could be Oscar Talbot or maybe "ourmutualfriend42" since she's suspected to be working from the inside.
The password though will most likely be "love you madly" or "all is lost"
Although people were swearing up and down that the password would be revealed on Eli Stone tonight, hopefully not though. Don't care about any other show....but Heroes

Last thing and I'll shut up.
I don't think that it some kind of time rip or alternate dimension. Why?
What would be easier to carry out, a rip in the time/space continuum or faking a plane crash?
What's the name of the Christiane I's Captain?

Well this kind of finale was somehow expected... I mean the game is called "Find 815". Well, i guess we found it...

Faisal said...

it is stupid, instead of answering some unanswred questions, the game left us with tons more, there were millions of clues from the game we didn't fuigre out what are they, the numbers from sundra page for example.. TMG site, most of the emails, the manifacture, the numbers on sun's picture, oceanic forcasts site, the poem, the ring, and a lot more i can't remember...

the game shouldn't end before answering the questions, specialy ones related only to the game, not show..
i'm afraid the the end of the real show would be the sam, it would be a waste of time then :(

also, i live in UAE, and here, until now we only got to see season one on TV, but i bought the rest on DVDs, so do anybody have an idea when it will be released on dvd ??

Unknown said...

Faisal, do you mean Find 815, or Season 4? There's no guarantee Find 815 will ever show up on DVD, and Season 4 hasn't even started over here in the States yet. It'll be a year yet.

Reanrd said...

It's obvious that Talbot has something to do with all this or that he knew about the plane from the beginning on.The 1. thing that makes me think this is the last video diary that we had to play backward to hear talbots voice and were we see talbots face.

also it's suspicious what is talbot doing with that big "mobile phone" in the succes video? he finish his conversation and sais "ok proceed" as if he had just phoned with someone to make sure that everything was in place...
so i thinks it's a fake plane...

zeppelined said...

Now that all five chapters are completed, I noticed looking at "My Progress" that there's a pattern to the little blocks that show what things you've completed. I suspect there's a code of some kind. I'm basing this mainly on the fact that a lot of the emails and websites seemed a little pointless and arbitrary. But if they needed to have a certain of emails or videos per chapter to fill in the code, it might make more sense. No idea yet what the code is though.

travis said...

I think sometimes fan see puzzles where there are none. And it was obvious the puzzles were for the hard core fan, while the casual fan just had to wait for Sam's video diary and do the activities on the abc website.

I'm guessing there's still one more puzzle out there for the hardcore fan.

notlost said...

all the puzzles/clues/stego/braille.....were put there to entertain hardcore fans while the game went on..if you didnt do them you would still end up at the same conclusion..the 'thanks for watching closely' message was for that..the game itself was entertaining enough to pass the time..dont think we've heard the last of talbot tho..

Reanrd said...

yeah there must be one puzzle we didn't solve and for sure there is a lot of information we were given for nothing.all those faded picture in the activities an cluehunting games didn't lead to anything? also did we find out about the summation of the columns?? those we had to divide by 6 ???

savagist said...

this is the worst ending ever. just a mobisode of new characters, to fill in the gaps, packed into 5 weeks of Atari Games.

thanks LOST. maybe if Rat-Mustache Naomi wouldnt have revealed that the plane was found - this would have been exciting. otherwise it was just filler as usual with this show. deflection first, filler later.

Valiant said...

the sum of the columns was solved a long time ago, if you look at the entry for omf42's flickr, it should be in the comments there, i believe.

but there ARE whispers in this game, (by which i mean the find the black rock game) can anyone get a capture of them?

also- can people not just enjoy the game for the enjoyment of playing it? i think this was much more about the journey than the destination. of course they aren't going to give us a big reveal- they save those for the show. what they did was give us a month of almost non-stop (for the hardcore, at least... and those who liked to poke fun at them) entertainment that we could tie in to the best show ever made. i don't regret a single minute, hour, or sleepless night i devoted to this game. and at the same time, i don't think it's entirely over yet.

which, btw, i think we should look at the whispers in the game. i think they'll lead us a little further

travis said...

savagist: Do you honestly think TPTB would make an ARG that less than 1% of the Lost viewers are interested in and reveal some deep island mystery???

BTW, we now know Naomi was telling the truth about the plane (some people didn't believe her) and that Hanso, Black Rock, and this mysterious "Maxwell Group" are involved!! The theory that a dummy plane was planted by a mysterious group is also kinda big!

Anonymous said...

I think the ourmutual friend stuff was put in at a time when people were starting to complain about this game,
what did the fonts have to do with the game, and the website came later which did nothing, but kept us talking for a week or two

Anonymous said...

v30, I heard whispers too. U make any out?

Anonymous said...

So I think that look on Sam's face after hearing Talbot speak on the news, I think that's supposed to indicate that Talbot knew more about Sam than Sam had told Talbot. So now Sam is suspicious of Talbot, so we should be too.

Doesn't Talbot seem almost sympathetic on the news video?

The Bionic Man said...

Ok,i failed the game, came here to look for a clue and left the Try again, continue, close window open and the whisper's are on a loop.

Did you notice in the success video the Brother Printer Toner box on the shelf in the background? Besides saying 'other' rather obviously, there's a box to the right of it that looks like it's gift wrapped. What do you think that's about?

i think this is the easiest solution path.... it's worked for many people....

Does anyone have a youtube link for this video? I'm at work and I'm only getting audio. I NEED TO SEE THIS! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Erik said...

ok, the giftwrapped package to the right is just a ream of canon copy paper. But, the Brother 401 toner is propped up about an inch higher that the ones behind it, clearly blocking out the B and r on the box. I bet they're telling us that someone's an other on the boat, probably Talbot.

How come no one in the game seemed to think it was odd that this plane is in the wrong ocean?

Anonymous said...

It was what I thought it would be, a easy fun game that had some underlying harder clues for those that like that. The game gave us some clue words of stuff to look for during this season, confirmed the place was found at the bottom of the ocean of the coast of fiji etc. They talked about this game in one of the podcasts, they said the Lost Experience was for hardcore fans and left out people that just wantted something to do and that it was a side story and some of the info maybe related to the show, but really had nothing to do with what was going on. They said if they did a game again, it would be closely tied to the show and have both things for the average viewer and the hardcore fans to keep there interest.

ON the last activity, just go around the outside and you will get them all with battery left, just try to avoid hitting anything and dont let up on the foward key as much as possible. Starting and stopping and hitting the walls is what uses up the battery.

Faisal said...

TheBookPolice sure i mean season 4, i sure know that it starts today, but usually after every 4 - 8 eps, they release them on dvd. anyway, thanks for dude, this is mostly my last visit here so it don't get spoiled :(

Did anyone else notice that the writing in the manifist has changed and that about half of each letter appears to have vanished? Maybe it is nothing, but the writing was never this faint previously.

Unknown said...

Kyle, you've summed up my opinion perfectly (and you've beat me to the punch).

I think Talbots comments at the end were a little foolish, as Sam's look made me think that Sam thinks he's been had.

mas13 said...

First, thanks to NeeperKat for pointing out the numbers on the stock market ticker in the final video, and thanks to Orchid and anothershannon for helping us figure out what they were!

This is what we came up with:
NASDAQ 2,316.08 +15.42 S&P 500 1,623.24 +8.04 DOW 8,424.15 -4.23

Recognize any of those numbers? They are all made up of "the numbers" except the 24 at the end of the S&P.

This was obviously intentional because the NASDAQ was in the 2,300s only in 2001 and 2006, the S&P has NEVER been over 1600, and the DOW was last at 8,400 in 2003. This is clearly not old footage.

Meaningful?

Anonymous said...

about the DOW stuff, are you implying that the news coverage was set in the future or in the past?

Abby said...

I thought maybe Talbott had been talking to Naomi? or Naomi's boat, at least. I didn't get into any of the "hardcore" details, but I had fun with the game.

from Tv interview we've seen in chapt. 5 end?

If true, then we know why Sam seem surprised at the end of chapt 5.

Thanks for the link! It's so much better with video.
I do think that Talbot's comments sparked something in Sam. I don't think his quest is over. He was about resign himself that it was over and done with, but Talbot just changed that. Awesome!
Do you think he'll end up helping Jack go back? He has to go back!
5 hours, 23 minutes!

jandredesz - While watching Sam I couldn't help but think of Nana!
And in trying to copy and paste your screen name, I stumbled on your profile. I'll be watching in San Leandro. :o)
Hugs to Nana!

Anonymous said...

Whoa cool! What a trip that we're so close to each other Deneph! I'll give Nana your regards soon, she's sleeping right now. She told me to wake her for the show tonight. She thinks maybe Sam will be on the freighter that's coming to the island, but I don't think so. I do hope that we'll have some resolution about Sonya though, I feel like she must be alive. She was even calling to Sam in the wind. How romantic, sigh.

Unknown said...

Could it be a fake plane to get Sam to stop searching?

Unknown said...

JenniferB- I think it must be a fake plane and they were 'thisclose' to having him stop his search. Talbot said something that changed Sam's mind though. I do think he's going to show up on the show sometime though.

jandredesz - Do you think Sonya could have been one of the tailies that were taking by the others? After last's night's ep though, she could be the 'dead but still here'.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone else hear something that sounded like morse code in the final video of chapter 5? When Talbot was on?

Anonymous said...

deneph - If Sonya is alive she would have to be one of the people taken early on from either the Losties or the Tailies. She would have been moving around with locke and Ben when they left Othersville. Weird. I wonder if she hangs out with Cindy, the other flight attendant who disappeared so quickly.

Either Sonya died on impact, or she's alive and existing some where and can't get back. I thought maybe she was sending him the messages, but then why wouldn't she just say "Help, I'm still alive!"? I like to think that Sonya is alive and that Talbot knows her. I think Talbot also kind of likes her, that's why he refers to as being perfect when he's first chidding/questioning Sam.

Maybe Talbot has heard about this "Sam" and doesn't want to lose Sonya to him. I know there's not a lot of support for it, but it would be interesting. Who would know the "love you madly" stuff to put in the e-mails though if not Sonya, or someone that knew her pretty well?

I don't know if the Sonya thing will be resolved, I can't tell. The game seems to be over.I would love it if Talbot were actually a good guy that has to be bad, for some higher purpose. His name isn't Talbot for no reason, he is the relation of someone in the show who was murdered by Locke's dad.
