Santa Rosa Bottle Clue Solved

Well done to TAE tonight for solving the numbers on the bottle.

Here's how it was done.

Here's how I solved the bottle clue:

10 19 4 4 1 5 8 6 19 21
23 13 4 21 11 13 6 7 20

Those translate to numbers

J S D D A E H E S U
W M D U K M F G T

Because I see "use head" backwards in the first line, I put the whole thing backwards.

useheaddsj tgfmkudmw

Now I tried a Caesarian Cipher, which rotates through letters of the alphabet.

You can do it yourself on this site. Cipher Tool

It came to this: campmillar bonusclue

Camp Millar? Here it is:

Camp Millar

Also I should point out that I got the idea from how to do this from mysterious postings by "Lostforever"

Well done TAE. Excellent work

I believe the +8 on OMF42's bag strap was a clue to use 8 on the shift! Also the pic of the big dipper being reversed in her flicker pics tell us to reverse the letters! Well done TAE!!!

Well done.

Nice.

I think thaht Camp Millar is the place where we see the two brazilian scientist at the end of the season 2.

Maybe a link with the northern light.

Nice Job TAE!!

RF,I think you should add the screen cap I created to this post, it would help any one new coming on to the board.

I am adding a link to my post with the cap to this solution post.

The ODI :)

As TAE pointed out. We had a helper in the chat tonight called "LostForever" who seemed to be throwing random clues around. I think everyone thought it was another fake!

Is this where Pennys people had their listening post?

"Camp Millar Mining and Trappers Station in Vaarsolbukta"

maybe this is where the polar bears came from....

Yes, Camp Millar is located in Svalbard. Here is a link to polar bear pics taken there:

wikipedia says of svalbard-
Svalbard is featured as the setting for much action in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. A GATEWAY was created there from which one could gain access TO PARALLEL UNIVERSES. The Svalbard in the books is inhabited by a race of intelligent armored POLAR BEARS...

i also think that this is where the arctic listening station is located, although if they detected an electromagnetic anomaly in the south pacific.. it must have been one huge anomaly.. that's like more than halfway across the world :P kinda odd that no one else detected it... in any case, cool clue. also from wikipedia: a seed vault is located there which protects plants from extinction. interesting...

There are two simetrical magnet pole in Earth: the positive and the negative. The North Pole is negative and then it has a atraction power in all world.

If the Camp Millar suffered the power of Island's eletromagnetism, Is because exist a line between the magnet north Pole and the Camp Millar. Therefore we need to cross the coordinates and others informations for find815!!!!

In wikipedia have some coordinates of Magnetics Poles at 22/9/2004.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Magnetic_Pole

Are we go to work?

His Dark Materials = 3 books. Book 1 is Northern Lights (UK name) aka The Golden Compass (in USA), recently released as a movie.

Draw a line from camp millar to "lost island" coordinates (google earth)...
taaadaaaa ! Runs through the magnetic north pole from about 2002. Ofc Maxwell style East-West switch.

MrSid said...

Almost same for magnetic south pole.
The line from camp millar to the magnetic southpole almost runs through sunda trench coordinates.

Maybe Maxwell found his magnetic monopole (see lostpedia swan station + Maxwell's equations, wikipedia)
could explain this punctual aurora, cuz in this part of the earth its almost impossible only during an enormous sunstorm.

Question: If the listening post was in this Camp Millar place which is located in Svalbard, wouldn't it be dark?

The lostpedia timeline suggests that this event occured on November 27, 2004.

If you check out this link http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=737&month=11&year=2004&obj=sun&afl=-11&day=1 you can see that the sun is down all day.

I think it's more likely that this is where they get the polar bears.

Wow, this really lends itself to the Vile Vortices theory. One of the 12 vortices is right where Svalbard is located. It would make sense, if the listening station was there, that they'd pick up on the EM coming from the "Golden-Compass-esque" gateway to the Island.

i thought the guys in the station were hired to try to locate DESMOND by Penny. They didn't experience the effects of the anomaly, but the anomaly made it possible for Desmond's boat to finally be DETECTED for the first time.

so in last nights episode we found out that where desmond was station in the army was called "camp millar"
