Ok, lets start with the stars.
The stars on the ceiling of the chapter 5 clue hunt lead us to pyx the compass..
(orchid)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyxis_%28constellation%29
(TAE) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/thatpirategirl/pyxis.jpg
Pyx lead us to Hydra.
(Gigora)http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/1029/pyxishydraph3.jpg
That got me thinking..why hydra? And what does it have to do with the other constellations we have seen?
So, heres a list of them.
Ursa Major - the bear
Hydra- uh, the hydra
Aquarius, the water bearer
They all are associated with the Labors of Hercules. (Gigora - OMF's arm is also going in the direction of Hercules when aligned with a star chart)
http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/5382/omfstarchartcopysx1.jpg
(note in this picture her stars have been aligned with the real big dipper)
Ursa Major - the bear - Labor 11 - Steal the Apples of Hesperides
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ursa_major
Ursa Major probably inspired the story
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesperides
Hydra- uh, the hydra - Labor 2 - Kill the Hydra
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lernaean_Hydra
I think this one is easy to figure out. Notes on the labor above
I think this one is self explanatory
Aquarius, the water bearer - Labor 8 - Mares of Diomedes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquarius_%28constellation%29
Ok this one is a little harder. Aquarius + Pegasas = Mares of Diomedes notice the way the question was phrased to Croucher. "does find the water have anything to do with Aquarius?" " No. " is it important to the game?" yes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mares_of_Diomedes
OK, so what does all this have to do with anything?
It explains all the different constellations we have received, and actually more. One of the other hints we received was "follow the water". In one of
the other Labors 7, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cretan_Bull ),
Hercules has to capture the Bull of Crete. Hercules has to sail, "follow the water", to Crete to get the Bull. (as a side note Sam is a Taurus, as per his myspace)
Part 3: Now it gets fun
We can take this a step further. Hercules lead us to Crete, but other evidence leads us farther. The earthquake stuff.
(gigora - http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/423/cluehuntlightsfliphd1.jpg
http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v434/n7031/fig_tab/434291a_F2.html )
There is a long running association between Crete and another Island.
Santorini. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santorini )
http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/2656/santorinivu1.jpg
There was a tsunami ( or so the story goes) that hit Santorini around 1500 BC, destroying what is believed to be... Atlantis. (I want to also point out, from Gigora, that there is a set of islands near there called "the christiana islets" south west of santorini, perhaps a reference to the Christiane I)
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/9049/christianasx4.jpg
(Gigora - these islands look familiar? one large.. one small )
Conclusion:
I think this explains a lot of what we are seeing. Even to the Indonisia map in chapt 5. Tsunamis destroyed both Indo, and Santorini. I would also predict that there is a picture of either Crete or Santorini somewhere in chapts 1-4. That's all I have for now, but I reserve the right to add later to it ?
Also, Big, Big, thanks to Gigora, mas13, Orchid, bunny15, JinSun, NeeperKat and everyone else that helped get this done. As usual, any
comments or gripes feel free to blast away.

Just pointing out that the direction the compass on the TMG's website is pointing is the same direction from Christiana Islets to Santorini.
-Gigora
My gut reaction when I saw the big foot statue was Atlantis, but Christiana islets would put them 4000 miles off the coast of Australia. How could Oceanic 815 been that far off course in the wrong direction?
Please note, we never said the island they are on is the Christiana Islets :)
It's just to top it off, that we are on the right track.
This is to do with the TMG website username and password. :)
Wow, lots of hard work, but it just confused me! lol what are the labors?
Yeah it's not a very clear description atm, but if you look at each of the links and read about it it makes more and more sense.

Funny, I've been working along similar lines over the weekend but whatever I came up with did not work as a password (perhaps simply because we don't have a correct username?)
The "Look’d up in perfect silence at the stars", the lights on the ceiling and the E and l in the Maxwell symbol led me to "Norma et Regula" and "Triangulum australe" which also fits in with "Les trois ilots" on Rousseau's map and other things. The constellation was also called "Three Patriarchs" (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; with obvious tie ins to the show). However, this did not get me anywhere in the end.
So I looked at the red flag on the Maxwell logo. This may be the flag of Papua New Guinea (>Black Rock); it contains the Southern Cross constellation (Crux australis), which is also displayed on the flag of Victoria (AUS) (>Queen's College, 'Victory' picture at Santa Rosa). Southern cross was also mentioned in Gary Troup's book. Further links are 'Southfields' > South Fields, 'fields' being the field of view in astronomy, Crux>(Red) Sox as in Shimmr>Flickr, and the 5th star of Crux australis is Epsilon crucis with the symbol E shaped like the one on the Maxwell symbol. Interesting side-note: on wikipedia it says "Contrary to some people's belief, it is not opposite to Ursa Major."
But again a seeming dead-end. So I looked at UCLA and the picture from the Canadian Space Agency, where there is a link to "Mysterious Objects and Extraordinary Phenomena" showing i.a. a Corona. Together with the strange octagonal object on the model ship's deck in the Maxwell logo that made me think of Corona australis. The links here are again: "Look’d up in perfect silence at the stars", Aurora australis, South Fields, Queen's College (corona = crown), and now also with the C-shape made by the progress blocks. However, still no password (or incorrect usernames).
Corona australis also led me to Dionysus, sone of Zeus and Persephone (sic!) the god of wine (Penny&Desmond). Followers of Dionysus wore crowns of myrtle and the Corona australis may represent the crown placed in the sky by Dionysus after retrieving his dead mother from the Underworld. Dionysus has the ability to preside over communication between the living and the dead. He had to be hidden from Hera's wrath (>Herarat?) Dionysus at some point hired a Tyrrhenian pirate ship. But when the god was on board, they sailed not to Naxos but to Asia, intending to sell him as a slave. And some other interesting quotes from Wikipedia: "When Hephaestus bound Hera to a magical chair, Dionysus got him drunk and brought him back to Olympus after he passed out." "Hephaestus gained revenge against Hera for rejecting him by making her a magical throne which, when she sat on it, didn't allow her to leave it." (>Jacob's chair? "Help me!")
"Sileni were Ipotanes who were followers of Dionysus in Greek mythology." (>"Perfect silence"?)
Some have labeled Dionysus a life-death-rebirth deity.
I think we are on the right track with all this mythology. Methinks what we need is a damn username!
ps.
Where did all those "water" references come from and who is Croucher?
Incidentally the Canadian Space Agency have an underwater station named Aquarius.
might i point out that santorini had a volcanic eruption not a water event. other than that really good
Lots of interesting info., but seriously... Is an ARG supposed to be so twisted and convoluted that you have to spend 80 hours a week on the computer researching mythology and physics?
Completely not realistic for the average person unless you're a Hollywood writer on strike with your thumb up your rear...or just unemployed.
Didn't a giant statue of Hercules stand near Atlantis?I seem to remember one of the great scholars of ancient Greece (Plato I belive) commenting on it in his writings.

True, very true.
If the Maxwell site truly can be gotten into at this point (and that's a big IF IMHO), then we'll probably all have a big 'Duh, why didn't I think of that' moment, when we find out what the UN/PW are.
About that e-mail: There is an M. Smerdon on Talbot's phone. Is this just another Hoodlum guy or could there be more to this?
And why 'correct number' of blocks? My progress thingy still has 13 blocks as before, after reading that mail. ???
BTW - did you know that Hyperion (the publishers of Gary Troup's book) published a book about a mathematician with the title "The man who only loved numbers"? LOL
Ivan - The thing is, there was a water event :) you guys really need to read the links we referenced. Anyway.. here it is spoon fed for you.
The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic ash deposits hundreds of feet deep and may have led indirectly to the collapse of the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete, 110 km (70 miles) to the south, through the creation of a gigantic tsunami.
The email seems legit as in, not related at all. the blocks seemed to increased, if you go back and look at my progress and check out chapter 1, theres a tonne of boxes.
- Gigora
Heres another.. quoted from http://www.delaxo.net/santorini/
"The eruption of 1925-26 that connected Small & New Kammeni caused little damage, but the powerful earthquake of 1956 destroyed many buildings and created tidal waves up to 17 meters high."
The only words I am getting from this adventure are:
Thera, Troy, Plato
and most interestingly, Aphotessa, the name of an island that appeared and disappeared. when googled, i found NOTHING else on this island, which lead me to think its the easter egg they want us to find.
anyone else?

Melanie~ I did some investigating and found that Aphotessa is generally thought to have joined to Nea Kameni, and not to have actually disapeared. Nice concept though:)
I'm pretty certain that The Maxwell Group website is just window dressing at this point. It's a taste of things to come.. With the writers still striking and LOST only having 7 episodes left (soon to be 6), I'm sure the ARG will continue in some shape or form after LOST concludes. It's probably then that more information on The Maxwell Group will rise to the surface.
While I applaud the effort put in here it looks like some people are just grasping at straws, trying to link every little piece of information together.
"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."
From what we have been told, that isn't the case.
- Gigora
I really hope there will be another ARG between Season 4 and 5, that would be nice. Then again, we have no idea what the following 7 episodes will bring, so we'll see how much of Maxwell and Sam Thomas will be touched upon in the show. . . .
The whole Lost story is centered on Greek Mythology; more importantly, The Trials of Hercules. The glyphs on the Swan station read "underworld", the monster will soon be revealed as Cerberus, Alvar Hanso's daughter, Rachel Blake, goes by the alter ego Persephone. Who is married to Hades, god of the underworld. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing references to Tartarus, Atlas, and the rest of the Hercules mythology. Nice research on the constellations. I was wondering about them. Oh and after tonight, can we agree that the time travel theory is in the bank.
WOW!
Great find guys!
No fair doing this on a night I wasn't around... :)
